Maryann borg
Who are you and what significant contributions did you make to the organization?
My name is Maryann Borg class (‘04) and music has always been an extremely important part of my life since I was a child. I can’t quit say that I’ve made any significant contributions to the organization but I can whole heartedly say that the organization contributed to major aspects of my life.

How was the transition from college to the real world? How was life after graduation?
It was definitely an adjustment. When you’re in college you feel invincible, that you can do anything when you want and how you want...that the world is your oyster... which in a way is true... but you also need to put hard work and dedication into using the tools you learn in college to achieve those dreams. You need to be patient and persistent. Life after graduation for me has been a bit of everything: ups, downs, stagnant, amazing and beautiful. But my biggest achievements in my life since college have been my purpose and motivation, my pride and joy: my children Ruby and Crosby.

Did being involved in the Chappell Players prepare you for life after college? How so?
It absolutely did. It helped me open up. I was and still am a shy person, but being a part of the theatre group helped me open up, gain confidence and trust my talent, which for has always been a tough task.

What is your favorite CPTG memory or experience?
I’d have to say from cabaret performances 80s cabaret and for shows playing Sheila in the production of Hair.

Have you been able to remain involved with theatre as much as you hoped/wanted?
Unfortunately not as much as I would have hoped. The only opportunity that I know, as an alumni, we can participate in is the annual cabaret show. And on top of that I stepped away to raise my kids so the options have been and are some what limited. But I will admit I’m glad I was able to come back for this years cabaret! (19th annual in 2017)

What is professional theatre like compared to what you did with the Chappell Players?
When I get there I’ll let you know.

Do you have any advice for Chappell Players going through college or those who have already graduated?
This is family. The Chappell Players is family. Know that you always have a home and family that love you, support you and appreciate you for who you genuinely are. Trust your talents, follow your gut and be persistent. Giving up on your dreams is not an option.
