LARISA MAR and MICHAEL COURTIEN
Lara and Mike met during their sophomore year at St. John's. They were both cast as ensemble members in the 2009 Children's Show "Grimm," written and directed by Jon Randhawa. Although they met in December 2008 they didn't start dating until July 2009. Both Lara and Mike graduated from St. John’s in 2011.
Both Lara and Mike were a part of the Chappell Players but as well as Alpha Psi Omega, the sister Theatre Honor Society Organization to CPTG. In both organizations, both were heavily involved in productions such as, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, A Year with Frog and Toad, CabaRadio, The Mayor and Wickersham Brother Seussical, and various One Acts. Mike says, “I could not have asked for a better time and group of friends in being a part of the Chappell Players and APO at St. Johns. I will always remember the countless hours spent in the Little Theater goofing around and making some cool theater happen.” |
Lara exclaimed about her experience with the Chappell Players and APO saying, “I loved being involved as it really helped me find my passion in marketing, branding, and leadership. During my time as President we rebranded the whole APO experience and made some changes that are still in effect today, such as adding in the Big and Little apprenticeship program.”
These two love-birds had an amazing time with the Chappell Players because of their all of the memories that they got to make with each other. “My favorite memory of Lara on stage is being the Jesus to her Marcy Park in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. We actually never had too many chances to interact directly on stage and this was without a doubt the funniest and best experience we had together,” Mike said when we asked him what his favorite memory of them two was. Lara and Mike are currently in the working force; Mike is a Centralized Billing Coordinator at Asphalt Green and Lara is a Marketing and Operations Director for Daniella Levi National + freelance brand planner at WeHeartBranding.com
